"There are a few moments in our lives when we realize that music is really magic. This was one of them." - David Steiner (Writer, Director, Educator)
STEFANI VALADEZ & STEVE MOOS
||Get ready for wonderful nights of Folk-Rock 'n' Blues and more. Stef and Steve are both talented singer / songwriters and accomplished musicians and they've been vibing together for a while now, but when you experience their funky, soulful and inspirational repertoire you'll know why their evenings at the Talking Stick have become so popular.
Though she's known for her World Music Ensemble, Stefani's musical roots needed to be shaken out once in a while. Collaboration with Steve Moos gives her the chance to sing her originals and some of her favorite Folk-Rock 'n' blues classics and also gives her the chance to play the Dulcimer and a little ukulele. She especially LOVES singing Steve's songs!
Steve plays Mandolin, guitars and piano. His style is warm, soulful and inviting, and damn gritty when it has to be. Steve's originals all feel like classics... you'll swear, that used to be your favorite song.
Featuring the heavenly-handed rhythm section of Rick Moor - Bass and Christo Pellani - Percussion
Special guests: Jeff Breeh on Bass (Oingo-Boingo, Pointer Sisters); master guitarist, Don Kirkpatrick (Rod Stewart, Michael Bolton, Joe Cocker & Amy Grant); Stevie Gurr (Don Henley, Elvin Bishop, Dr. John, Otis Clay) on harmonica & guitar, Taras Prodaniuk (Richard Thompson, Dwight Yoakum, Marty Rifkin, Kenny Edwards) on bass; Christo Pellani on drums and World Percussion (Christo's musical endeavors include master studies in Africa, Brazil, India, and Bali. He's played with Air Supply, Mary Wells, The Shirrelles, the Marvellettes, Nina Hagen, Ronnie Spector, Brandon Fields, Fabien Mamman). Rick Moors on bass & percussion, Mark Tyson, long time guitarist for reggae legend Ras Michael & the Sons of Negus as well as many others. Richard Hardy - Saxes, Flutes and Ethnic Woodwinds.( He performed with Carole King for 14 years and has played and recorded with the Dave Matthews Band, James Taylor and Stevie Ray Vaughn.)

"Vilaro brilliantly employs Ladino songs, performed live in his Ritualistic new "Deshar Alhat". He has set his piece to the gorgeous melodies and fierce percussion of Ladino songs, with the added treat that these songs are played live by singer-guitarist Stefani Valadez, Christo Pellani on percussion, & Nyofu Tyson on Turkish Saz. Every section tautly responds to the sinuous vocals and complex percussion."
- Chicago Tribune
"Deshar Alhat" is one of three new works featured in "Ciclos" to be presented at the Harris Theatre. LA songstress Stefani Valadez will be on hand to add her thrilling voice to the mix of live elements."

"...the Stefani Valadez Ensemble anchored a wonderful Music Celebration that introduced audience members to the eclectic and diverse range of her artistry. Their performance was truly entertaining and mesmerizing... It was a memorable experience."
- Adam Philipson - Assistant Director / PACMA (Santa Monica College)
"Stefani Valadez...and her Band captivated the audience with some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. People were clapping, crying and calling out for more... The band was a virtual who's who of Los Angeles top-drawer musicians, and perfectly complemented Stefani's presence with power, drive, and brilliant rhythmic and melodic subtleties. Viva Stefani Valadez!"
- Marc Bachrach PRESENTS
I have had the pleasure to produce concerts featuring Stefani Valadez and her band on several occasions in the last couple of years. "Stefani puts on one of the most captivating concerts I have ever seen. Each song seemed like an angel was singing through her speaking in different languages. Her songs gripped the audience and held them tight and the music touched their hearts... I would guarantee that Stefani and her band would blow away any audience you put her in front of."

"Stefani's music is enchanting, uplifting and enriching, a journey through time to ancient cultures and traditions." - Rina Daly
"Stefani's renditions of Sephardic songs are absolutely haunting. One moment you are transported to the Golden Age of Jewry, the next you are reminded of the bittersweet suffering of love and prejudice in an unforgiving time." - Bob Israel
"Listening to her music I find myself in new places, each one with its own sounds and smells and experiences, which somehow feel familiar. Stefani's voice takes me "Home" in the deepest sense of the word." - Eva Nathanson
